What does Skinvive do for your skin?

Skinvive is a hyaluronic acid skin booster by Juvéderm, injected as tiny microdroplets just under the skin of the cheeks and other areas. Rather than adding volume, it improves hydration, smoothness and a dewy glow, and can soften very fine lines. Most patients need one session, with results visible within 2–4 weeks and typically lasting around 6 months. Mild bumps and redness usually settle within a few days.

Understanding Skinvive

Hydration from within

With age, sun exposure and dry indoor air, the skin's natural hyaluronic acid declines. Skin can look dull, feel rough and show fine crepey lines even when facial volume is still good. Topical moisturisers help the surface, but they cannot reach the deeper layers where hydration supports bounce and light reflection.

Skinvive places a lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid in tiny droplets across the skin, improving texture and radiance. It suits dull complexion, fine lines and rough texture, and pairs well with lasers and lifting.

Signs Skinvive may help

  • Skin looks dull or lacks glow
  • Rough or uneven texture on the cheeks
  • Very fine, crepey lines
  • Makeup sits poorly or looks dry
  • Dehydration after travel, flights or dry climates
Skinvive improves skin quality, not volume — for hollowing, our doctors may suggest fillers or Sculptra.
Our approach

A skin-quality treatment

We tailor where and how Skinvive is placed, and often combine it with other skin treatments for a complete result.

01

Microdroplet injection

Dozens of tiny, even droplets are placed superficially across the cheeks, and where suitable the neck or hands, for uniform hydration.

02

Combination with toning

Skinvive pairs well with pico or Q-switched toning and Dual Toning for clarity plus glow.

03

Texture refinement

For enlarged pores or rough skin, we may add Potenza or Q Facial for a smoother surface.

04

Neck and hands

Skinvive can complement neck fillers or hand rejuvenation where skin looks thin and crepey.

05

Maintenance

A single top-up about every 6 months keeps hydration and glow consistent.

What to expect

Smoother, more radiant skin

Drag the handle to compare. Texture and glow improve gradually over 2–4 weeks as the skin becomes better hydrated.

Possible side effects

Small raised bumps at injection points, redness, swelling and pinpoint bruising are common and usually settle within 1–3 days. Uncommon risks include lumps, infection, prolonged redness and delayed inflammatory reactions. Vascular complications are rare because the product is placed superficially in very small amounts. Hyaluronidase is available if needed.

Avoid makeup for 12–24 hours and saunas, intense exercise or alcohol for 24 hours. Tell us about recent lasers, cold sores or blood-thinning medication.

FAQ

Skinvive questions, answered

Is Skinvive a filler?
It is a hyaluronic acid injectable, but it is designed for skin quality rather than volume. It will not change your facial shape.
When will I see results?
Some patients notice a dewy look within days once bumps settle. The full improvement in smoothness and glow usually appears within 2–4 weeks.
How long does Skinvive last?
Typically around 6 months. Many patients repeat it twice a year to keep skin hydrated.
Does it hurt?
Many small injections are needed, but numbing cream and lidocaine in the product keep most patients comfortable. Expect light pricking.
Can I fly the next day?
Yes. Small bumps and redness usually fade within a few days. Keep skin hydrated in flight and use sunscreen on arrival.
Skinvive or Rejuran?
Skinvive focuses on hydration and glow using hyaluronic acid; Rejuran uses polynucleotides to support repair and elasticity. Your doctor may recommend one or both depending on your skin.
