Do fillers work for neck lines?

Yes, for horizontal neck lines (often called necklace lines or tech neck). A soft, low-density hyaluronic acid filler is placed very superficially along each crease to lift it from beneath, and a skin booster can improve overall texture. Lines look softer straight away, with results usually lasting 6–12 months. Fillers do not tighten loose skin or vertical neck bands, which respond better to lifting devices or Xeomin.

Understanding neck lines

Why the neck shows age early

Neck skin is thinner than facial skin, has fewer oil glands and folds thousands of times a day as we look down at phones and laptops. Over time, collagen loss and repeated bending etch horizontal creases that can appear even in our twenties and thirties, while sun exposure adds crepey texture.

Neck fillers treat the creases themselves. Loose skin, a softening jawline or vertical platysmal bands are different problems, so our doctors may combine fillers with lifting or muscle-relaxing treatment. Read more on neck lines and sagging skin.

Signs neck fillers may help

  • Horizontal rings that stay visible when your head is upright
  • Lines that catch foundation or look deeper in photos
  • Neck that looks older than your facial skin
  • Crepey, thin texture on the front of the neck
  • Lines that started early from screen posture
Deep folds caused mainly by loose skin may need tightening first — we assess this before injecting.
Our approach

Layered neck rejuvenation

We match the treatment to what is causing your lines — the crease, the skin quality or laxity underneath.

01

Line-by-line filler

Small threads of a soft, flexible hyaluronic acid such as Belotero are placed just under each crease to lift it gently without lumps.

02

Skin boosters

Skinvive microdroplets or Rejuran improve hydration and fine crepiness across the whole neck.

03

Xeomin for neck bands

Small doses of Xeomin can soften vertical platysmal bands that pull the lower face and neck downward.

04

Lifting devices

For laxity, Ulthera or Thermage FLX tighten the deeper layers and complement fillers over 2–3 months.

05

Home care

Daily sunscreen on the neck, retinoid guidance and posture tips help results last longer.

What to expect

Smoother, softer neck lines

Drag the handle to compare. Creases look shallower right away, with skin quality improving further over the following weeks.

Is it right for you?

Good candidates

Safety first

Possible side effects

Because the filler is placed superficially, small visible bumps, redness, swelling and bruising are common for a few days and usually settle on their own. Uncommon risks include persistent lumps, a bluish tint if filler sits too shallow (Tyndall effect), infection and delayed inflammatory nodules.

We reduce these risks by choosing a soft, smoothly integrating gel, injecting tiny amounts, and treating conservatively in a first session with a top-up if needed. Hyaluronidase is always available to dissolve filler.

Please tell us about blood-thinning medication, previous neck procedures or threads, and any thyroid surgery or conditions.

FAQ

Neck Fillers questions, answered

Will I see bumps after neck fillers?
Small bumps along the lines are common for 1–3 days and usually smooth out naturally. If any remain after two weeks, we can gently mould or dissolve them.
How long do neck fillers last?
Typically 6–12 months. The neck moves constantly, so filler may break down faster than in less mobile areas. A skin booster can help maintain results.
Does it hurt?
The neck can be sensitive, but numbing cream and lidocaine in the filler keep most patients comfortable. Most describe light pricking and pressure.
Can fillers fix a sagging neck?
No. Fillers soften creases but do not tighten loose skin. For laxity, we suggest lifting devices such as Ulthera, sometimes with Xeomin for neck bands.
Can I wear a scarf or fly after treatment?
Yes. Avoid tight collars, heavy necklaces and pressure for a day or two. Flying is fine; swelling usually settles within a few days.
