What is Belotero filler used for?

Belotero is a range of hyaluronic acid fillers by Merz known for smooth integration into the skin. Its softer gels suit fine and superficial lines, the under-eye area, lip lines and neck lines, where a lumpy or bluish result is a concern. Firmer Belotero products add volume to cheeks and lips. Results are immediate and typically last 6–18 months depending on the product and area, and Belotero can be dissolved with hyaluronidase.

Understanding Belotero

Designed to blend in

Belotero fillers use a cohesive polydensified gel that spreads evenly into surrounding tissue. This makes softer Belotero products well suited to thin skin and superficial placement, where other gels may be visible or palpable. Firmer products in the range provide lift and volume when needed.

Our doctors often choose Belotero for delicate work such as neck fillers, fine lip lines and under-eye fillers, and may combine it with Juvéderm or Restylane for deeper structure.

What Belotero can treat

  • Fine lines, including lip lines and crow's feet
  • Horizontal neck lines
  • Under-eye hollows suitable for filler
  • Nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Lip volume and cheek contour
We use only genuine, traceable Belotero products and show you the sealed packaging and batch label before treatment.

Safety first

Possible side effects

Common, temporary effects include swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising, usually settling within a week. Uncommon risks include lumps, asymmetry, infection and delayed inflammatory nodules.

Vascular occlusion is a rare but serious risk with any filler. We reduce it with careful anatomical planning, cannulas where suitable, slow low-pressure injection and conservative volumes, and hyaluronidase is always on hand.

Tell us about previous fillers, blood-thinning medication, recent illness or dental work, and cold sore history before lip treatment.

FAQ

Belotero questions, answered

How is Belotero different from Juvéderm or Restylane?
All three are hyaluronic acid fillers. Belotero's softer gels are known for blending smoothly into thin skin, which makes them useful for fine lines and delicate areas. Your doctor may use more than one brand in a plan.
How long does Belotero last?
Typically 6–18 months. Soft gels for fine lines last closer to 6–9 months; volumising gels last longer.
Does it hurt?
Most patients feel mild stinging and pressure. We use numbing cream and lidocaine-containing products where available.
Can I fly after Belotero?
Usually within 24–48 hours. Treating a few days before departure allows us to review swelling and make small adjustments.
Is Belotero reversible?
Yes. As a hyaluronic acid filler, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed.
